Max was found in a colony of cats living behind a Winn Dixie in Jan 2019. He was covered in lice, extremely emaciated, had a severe eye infection, upper respiratory infection, a broken fang, Stomatitis and worms of all varieties... He was literally the walking dead. Despite all of this, he was friendly but it took a little time to earn his trust so his rescuer/foster could get close enough to grab him. He went 3 times a day to feed him wet food as he couldn't eat the dry. With Max having Stomatitis it was too painful for him to eat dry food or groom himself. All he knew was that he wanted to save his life or at least end his suffering. He was finally caught at the end of February. His foster had the broken fang removed and all the rest of his issues taken care of. He has been living with his rescuer for over a year and a half and have tried hard to get him to be good with their other cats. Unfortunately, they have not been successful. He lives in his own room unless they are home so that he can be out but watched closely. He is a bit of a bully. He gets along with some of their cats but any that show they are scared and try to run get jumped on. His foster/rescuer feel it is best for Max to have the freedom of living in a whole house, not just in one room. He will need a home with someone that can afford annual vet visits and regular teeth cleanings due to the Stomatitis. They have been using Oxyfresh dental care - a water additive that has done a great job in keeping the Stomatitis at bay. He loves to play, be brushed and always wants to be loved. Max would do best in a home with no dogs, no children and possibly a one other cat that could stand up to him if need be.
Our kittens and cats are not adopted on a first come, first serve basis. We make an effort to match the perfect person or family with each cat/kitten. If there are two names together, those are bonded cats and we will not separate them. All of our
kittens
must have a kitten, cat and/or dog companion,
unless otherwise noted.
